M. Florencia Guerzovich is a doctoral candidate in Political
Science. She is currently working on her dissertation on the
differing success of international efforts, including external
inducements and legalization, to promote accountability mechanisms
in the executives, legislatures and judiciaries. For this
project, Florencia has conducted research in over 15 countries
and international institutions in the Americas and Europe.
Florencia has been a Fulbright Scholar, a U.S. Department
of State International Visitor and a Charles and Kathleen
Manatt Democracy Studies Fellow. During 2008-2010, she will
hold a Graduate Fellowship of the Organization of American
States. Between 2000 and 2002, she was an advisor at the Department
of Transparency Policy of the Anticorruption Office in Argentina
where she participated in the negotiation and implementation
of several international instruments against corruption, including
the Inter-American Convention against Corruption and the United
Nations Convention against Corruption.
