Jeff Kosbie is a JD/PhD student in Sociology. He began his work at Northwestern in 2006. Jeff's research interests include social movements, law and society, sexualities, and gender. He is particularly interested in interactions between culture, identity, and law in mobilization processes, and currently is working on a second year paper on the same-sex marriage movement in Massachusetts. Jeff has been actively involved in planning "Queertopia! An Academic Festival," a queer grad student academic conference organized by the Queer Pride Grad Student group at Northwestern. Before coming to Northwestern, Jeff earned his BA in Sociology from Brandeis University, and briefly worked for MassEquality as a pro-same-sex marriage activist.
