Nicole Martorano Van Cleve is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology.
Her areas of interest include criminal justice, organizations
and the study of institutions and culture. She received her
B.A. at Northwestern University where she received the Farrel
Grant for Public Policy. She served in The Office of the Chief
of Staff at the White House during the Clinton Administration
and subsequently worked for five years as a Consumer Brand
Planner for Leo Burnett, USA. Nicole is the Research Director
for Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice and is currently working
on a system-wide study of the Criminal Justice System in Cook
County, IL. Her dissertation examines criminal justice reform
movements in Chicago-Cook County.
