Susan Gaunt Stearns
Former Jack Miller Post-Doctoral Fellow
Susan Gaunt Stearns was a Jack Miller Center Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Scholar at Northwestern University from Fall 2013 through the Summer of 2016. She received her Ph.D. in History from The University of Chicago, and taught at Mary Baldwin College. Her current research focuses on the political economy of the early American frontier, through an examination of the Mississippi River. At the Center for Legal Studies, Susan offered courses on the American founding, the American Revolution, the Constitution, and the expansion of the American state.
